Izzy is RAAHI’s on-ground travel engine, built to help make the moving parts of a trip work together.
Travel rarely happens exactly as planned. A driver changes. A guide becomes unavailable. A group adds another person. Weather changes the day. Plans move. Prices, schedules, people and places all have to come together.
That is where Izzy comes in.
Izzy works across RAAHI to help travelers find the right professionals, understand their options, coordinate availability, manage bookings and communication, organize group decisions, and keep track of the details that change along the way.
Rather than treating each booking as an isolated transaction, Izzy looks at the trip as a connected journey. A driver may need to arrive before a guide. A naturalist may only be available on a particular morning. A boat may require a minimum number of travelers. A change in one part of the trip may affect several others. Izzy is designed to help RAAHI coordinate these dependencies as the trip evolves.
For travel professionals, Izzy helps turn traveler needs into clearer requests, reduces unnecessary back-and-forth, and helps coordinate schedules, bookings and communication. The professional remains the expert. Izzy helps make the connection and coordination around that expertise easier.
Why the name Izzy?
Izzy is named after Isabella Lucy Bird, the 19th-century British explorer, travel writer, photographer and naturalist.
Isabella traveled across continents at a time when independent travel by women was extraordinary. She crossed oceans, rode through remote country, climbed mountains and documented the people and natural world she encountered along the way.
Isabella was a naturalist. Birds, wildlife, plants, mountains, wilderness and travel were part of her world. They are also part of the story behind RAAHI.
Her journeys depended not only on where she went, but on the people who knew those places—the guides, horsemen, interpreters, hosts and others who helped her find her way.
More than 170 years later, that idea remains remarkably relevant.
Technology has changed travel. The fundamental need has not.
You still need the right person, in the right place, at the right time.
That is Izzy.
An on-ground travel engine named after a woman who knew that finding your way through the world has always been about more than getting from one place to another.
